Desc
NE Bise wind and cirrus clouds stopped the sun till midday, then thermals started and the conditions turned out surprisingly good!
The way there and back to Brünig pass was quite fast and we enjoyed the company of tons of other paragliders, hanggliders and gliders on the way. After we returned to Interlaken we wanted to fly towards Grindenwald, but Schynigenplatte gave us really hard time with it's lee side thermals, so we turned back and change to the ridge towards Fruttigen. At the last turnpoint we passed through a really serious eagle attack (a huge bird with approx 2 meter span) in front of a big cliff, where probably its nest was. The bird attacked the glider 3-4 times and ripped out the top surface of the tandem at several places (see the pictures). Because of this we could not climb where we'd had to so we almost bombed out in a valley in the middle of nowhere! Was a really close call, but after a 20 min fight in the lee side God gave us the fcng strongest thermal of the day with peaks up to 8m/s and we could finally make it back to Höhematte, YESSS!
Thanks for Skywings for the take-off shuttle and Aircotec XC trainer for the log.

Back in Interlaken at 2500!

Home, sweet home!
We crossed to the other side, but Schynigeplatte just shaked the hell out!
Change to the next ridge (Thunnersee)
Looking back
Deep winter!!!
Love is in the air!
Brrrrrr....
Poor tandem after the bird attack :-(
Yesss, we made it! I want to peeeee!
The landing place, Höhematte
The fckn huge bird ripped the wing (this is just the biggest hole)

Hi Alex! Thank you :-)
The pictures were taken by my girfriend.
Shit, there is a huge hole at the leading edge, but the rest can be solved by some ripstop... :-)
We really enjoyed the flight despite some hot parts and fights with the elements, lee side shots...
Ciaooo!
