My first foot-launched flight after my accident on 25th May (anyway the 2nd, since I made an acro flight by helicopter d-bagging :-)). I could take-off perfectly just jumping on my right leg (with a comp wing and comp harness), thanks to the pro support of my commercial tandem-pilot friends (Skywings), who helped me into the air! Thanks a lot guys!

It was great to fly again and I was full on motivated to fly a little XC around Interlaken. However I had to be carefull, because I still cannot walk without crouches and I planned to put them into my harness for the flight in case I land somewhere else...but they didn't fit in, so my girfriend took them down to the Höhematte. So, I had to land there for sure :-)

After taking the first thermal above Amisbühl, I flew straight to the Harder ridge and start gliding towards Brienz prepared to catch the first good thermal and climb above the ridge. Well, that thermal didn't come and soon after I realized that the conditions are really stable. Due to an inversion at about 1400 meters it felt impossible to climb higher. After an hour fighthing, fIying very close to the mountain finally I could brake

through the inversion, it looked amazing! The level of the inversion was at the half size of Niesen. Although I was over the inversion I could barely climb higher, just on the way back to Interlaken, where finally I could fly over the mountain ridge and go higher, before crossing the valley to Morhenberghorn. There again the same shit, fast and easy climb with valley wind and thermals, till the inversion. I took my time and managed to fly over the next valley, where I flew only once up to now, so it was great to play around!

Despite the tricky conditions it was a great flight, especially being back after a long break!

Thanks again for the Skywings team, for helping me at the take-off and landing!

... for a *real* glider? U-turn is the epitome of a chavvy brand. Ask Stefan from Skywings for a Boom 5 ;-)

    Anyway, get well soon!
