GiPSy and Flytec 6030?
Author: Dzbin (+0) (-0) | Posted: 12.10.2008 * 16:29

I can't get GiPSy to connect to my Flytec 6030.

I'm running Firefox 3.0.3 in Mac OS 10.5

Any ideas?

Currently it supports Garmin and Aerotec instruments.

Not sure if Ondrej is planning for Flytec. It may be just a case of someone lending him an instrument. Or it's a programming nightmare or more likely he's just a busy boy.

I have been somewhat busy recently and to India on pre-pwc ... and lost my complete hard disk :( anyway, I luckily found the sources of gipsy dispersed over the internet and I am going to fix all those bugs asap and hopefully add support for the compeo/competino/6030 instruments. I think I have some person to lend me the instrument, especially now that the season is over.

Make sure you don't try and use the Prolific Driver on Flytec site.

This combination may help for now.

You'll need the driver from here not all drivers I've tried work.

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/osx-pl2303/

And GPSDump for Mac from here.

    WARNING!!!

Suggest saving important tracks the way we've been struggling to do up to now until we've well tested this!!!!!

    Hello Ondrej,

how can I join you developing Gipsy ?

Where can I find source code and/or interface definitions (header files for libraries etc.) ?

I can offer some algorithms to detect e.g. "end-of-winch-tow", "circling-diameter" in analyzing a tracklog and support for Skytraq Venus 6 chipsets in GPS-Loggers.

    Best Regards

    TePe

The flytec is currently supported in the source code, as soon as I compile it, it will be available for all.
