The World XContest winner 2022 Timo Leonetti is probably the first paragliding pilot ever who broke 500k on two different continents. 🌎🌍 What's more, he has archived it during the same XContest season. Congratulations Timo for the African record - 562 km 🇿🇦👏

🏆 World XContest 2022 champions - ♀️ WOMEN ♀️ ! 🥇1st: Amazing German pilot Brigitte Kurbel 🇩🇪 managed to reach the highest rank for the 3rd time (2014, 2019) and podium for the 5th time (bronze in 2016, 2018) with best flights from Pustertal, the longest one was 245km FAI triangle from Antholz (total 1863p.). 🥈2nd: Silver goes to Switzerland 🇨🇭. Mar Tina Hauri with all homeland flights and the best 196km FAI triangle from Gotthard (where she set a site record), is a new rising stars). She started with paragliding in 2018 and during her best season so far she collected 1698p. 🥉3rd: After two years, Yael Margelisch has returned to the virtual podium with a bronze medal! The Swiss pilot 🇨🇭 flew mainly in Switzerland and South America during the season with the longest free distance 530km from the Brazilian Caico (total 1591p.). 🏆 The 2022 World XContest has just officially ended and we have new paragliding and hang-gliding WINNERS! 🏆 This time the battle in the OPEN category was really spectacular because the Brazilian playground was not so crucial in achieving the top places. The game has come back to Europe. 🇪🇺 🥇The first place belongs to the French young superstar Timo Leonetti for the first time with an incredible amount of points (3113p.) collected mostly from Col d'Izoard including two 335km FAI triangles. 🇫🇷 🥈The second place also flies to the paragliding nation France - Edouard Potel ended up only 10 points behind Timo (3103p.). 300km+ FAI triangle on a paraglider? A new norm. In World XContest 2022, 29 closed FAI triangles over 300 km have been claimed. 7 of these giant performances were flown by Edouard Potel, including the greatest one and this, for now the last one!
